FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Running the video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, the NM team spotted a YouTube video, dated March 20, 2024, on the official channel of VISWABHARATH TV — a Telugu media organisation. The video in the bulletin matches exactly with the viral clip, confirming that the police checked Lokesh’s cars. But later on, we came to know that the Police didn’t find anything in his convoy.
We also came across a news article published in the Times of India on March 21, 2024, confirming that no prohibited materials were found in Lokesh’s cars upon inspection. The article further informs that he cooperated fully with the police during the entire check and later on the convoy moved after the clearance from the authorities.
Lokesh tweeted about the viral video as well, confirming that the claims are all fake, and urged the Election Commission to take strict action against the people who are spreading fake news.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show TDP General Secretary Lokesh Nara caught with bundles of cash in his convoy, is false.
