PM calls meeting for review of MFN status to Pakistan, trade measures against Pakistan

The Most favoured Nation status has been a political tool. Government of India, after the ‘nil’ improvement on the part of Pakistan over the Uri attack incident has led to a decision on Most Favoured Nation status for Pakistan. For which, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a meeting with top officials on Thursday for a review.

After a serious round of discussions, with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar and other top officials over reconfiguration of the Indus Waters Treaty, and economic issues like MFN status at WTO have come in light.

“Blood and water cannot flow together,” the PM had said in the meeting.

September 18′ Uri attack will be revenged with equal detestation against Pakistan. India is exploring its economic, diplomatic but not military options against Pakistan. Though a wide range of Indian people has a revengeful ambition against Pakistan.

The “Most Favoured Nation” status was granted to Pakistan by India in 1996, while Pakistan has not reciprocated. This status gives equal advantages on trade to both nations, it is given under WTO trade regime.

The bilateral trade between the countries is minimal, hence it will only remain a symbolic move to detest Pakistan.
