Grenoble: F1 champion Michael Schumacher is no longer in a coma and has left the hospital in Grenoble, his manager confirmed.
Schumacher was placed in a medically induced coma since his life-threatening skiing accident in the French Alps, December last year. The former F1 champion was said to have suffered a severe head injury.
Sabine Kehm said his family thanked people who had sent messages of support, saying: “We are sure it helped him.”
The 45-year-old German will continue his rehabilitation at an undisclosed location, the family said in a statement.
Kehm said: “His family would like to explicitly thank all his treating doctors, nurses and therapists in Grenoble as well as the first aiders at the place of the accident, who did an excellent job in those first months”.
She added that Schumacher’s rehabilitation will take place away from the public eye.
