Sensex plunges 467.65 points to 37,922.17; Nifty50 at 11,438.10 on rupee woes

The BSE Sensex closed 467.65 points lower on Monday at 37,922.17, while the Nifty50 ended 151 points down at 11,438.10, on a widening current account deficit, reaction to global cues and falling rupee.

The rupee touched a fresh record low of 72.67 against the dollar after the current account deficit widened to a four-quarter high due to rising crude oil prices. Global stocks were also hit by rising anxiety about the US-China trade war.
