Dave for continued Indo-US talk over climate change issues

New Delhi, Sep 2 (PTI) Union Environment Minister AnilMadhav Dave has emphasised the need for continued dialouge onvarious issues concerning climate change with the US likeadopting a sustainable lifestyle and implementation of theParis accord. "The Minister has emphasised the need for continueddialogue on sustainable lifestyles, phase-down ofHydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) under Montreal Protocol, Researchand Development… "…cooperation on Global Market-Based Measures (GMBM)under the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) andimplementation of Paris Agreement," an official statementsaid. It said that a US delegation, headed by JonathonPershing, Special Envoy for Climate Change and AmbassadorJennifer Haverkamp, US Special Representative for Environmentand Water, held discussions on issues of mutual interest andurgent global matters under negotiation at multilateral foraover the last couple of days. After the discussions, US Ambassador to India, Richard RVerma and Ambassador Jennifer Haverkamp called on theEnvironment Minister yesterday. Dave appreciated the outcome of Joint Working Group (JWG)on Climate Change on long-term cooperation in areas includingon air quality, climate resilience, climate fellowships,forestry and energy co-operation, the statement said.
