One killed, one injured in road accident

New Delhi, Aug 17 (PTI) One person was killed and anotherinjured when their scooter rammed into a divider on ZakirHussain Marg, police said today. Mohammad Gulfam and Imran, both aged around 25 years,who were residents of Hauz Qazi village were going toNizamuddin railway station to enjoy a late night dinner whenthe accident occurred on the Zakir Hussain Road close to IndiaGate at around 11 pm last night, said a senior police officer. The duo were riding speedily when the rammed into a roaddivider. The impact of the collision led to injuries to boththe riders. Police reached the spot on getting a PCR call and rushedthe duo to hospital where Imran who was pillion rider wasdeclared dead by the doctors at RML hospital while Gulfam wastreated for light injuries he had sustained in the accident. There were no signs of consumption of liquor by the duo,said the officer. Gulfam who was undergoing treatment left hospital withoutinforming police and he will be called for questioning to getdetails of the accident, the officer added. PTI SLB VITRG
