FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, our team identified a tweet, dated May 14, 2024, on the official account of The Royal Family. The video in the tweet matches exactly with the viral clip except for Raisi’s portrait. Here, we see King Charles III unveils his own portrait — the first official portrait to be completed since his coronation.
Searching further, we came across a news article from CNN confirming that the King unveiled his own portrait at Buckingham Palace. The 8.5 by 6.5 feet portrait was painted by British artist Jonathan Yeo.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming King Charles III unveiled a large portrait of Ibrahim Raisi to pay his respect, is false.
