Congress MP Santokh Chaudhary Dies Of Heart Attack During Bharat Jodo Yatra, March Halted

Ludhiana: Congress MP from Jalandhar Santokh Singh Chaudhary died on Saturday at the age of 76 after suffering a cardiac arrest during the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Punjab.

Leader of Opposition in the Punjab assembly Partap Singh Bajwa said that Chaudhary was walking along with a fellow MP from Kerala and suddenly collapsed. Chaudhary was then rushed to a hospital in an ambulance in Ludhiana.

The last rites of Congress MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary will be performed at his village on Sunday, as per newswire ANI.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra has been reportedly suspended for Saturday and till the last rites said a Punjab Congress chief.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi twitted of demise, “Stunned with the sudden demise of Santokh Singh Chaudhary.”

Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge condoles the demises of party MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary.

“Deeply shocked and saddened to learn about the untimely passing away of our MP, Santokh Singh Chaudhary..,” he tweets.

“Pained by the passing away of MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary,” tweets Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
