Royal wedding: Alexi Lubomirski to photograph Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day

Alexi Lubomirski, who also took Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement pictures, said he is delighted to have been chosen to take the photos on 19 May.

He is also the photographer who has snapped stars including Beyonce, Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Kidman has been named as the official Royal wedding photographer.

Discussing his role in the Royal nuptials, he said: “I could not be more thrilled or honoured to photograph this historic occasion.

“Having taken Prince Harry and Ms Markle’s engagement photos, it brings me such joy to be able to witness again, the next chapter in this wonderful love story.”

The romantic set of engagement images he took at Frogmore House in Windsor last year include an informal black and white picture of Prince Harry and Meghan embracing, as well as a more formal colour shot of the pair holding hands.

And the fashion photographer turns out to have an impressive aristocratic heritage of his own.

Lubomirski, 42, whose official title is “His Serene Highness Prince Alexi Lubomirski” is descended from an influential Polish family who received their hereditary title in the 17th century.

Born in England, before moving to Botswana aged eight, Lubomirski now lives in New York with his wife and two sons.

The Royal wedding will take place at St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Prince Harry and Meghan have invited 600 select friends and colleagues to attend the ceremony, with a further 2,640 people invited to celebrate inside the castle walls.
