Pak called-off NSA talks on fear of being ‘exposed’: BJP

Date:

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday commenting on NSA-level talks exclaimed that Pakistan called-off the NSA talks because of the fear of being exposed to the world.

“Pakistan calling-off the NSA-level talk is extremely unfortunate,” BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said.

“Engaging with the Hurriyat and digressing from the main topic is what Pakistan chose as an excuse to run away from these talks. Only because of the fact that it probably knew that it would be exposed to the world if it starts talking on terror. Today, this step of Pakistan has exposed it yet again in the global arena,” he added.

Meanwhile, Congress blamed the separatists for calling- off of NSA talks, saying they are solely responsible for the failure of this meet.

“Kashmir became centre stage. While Kashmir was not to be the issue according to the Ufa settlement but ultimately it became the issue. Thanks to the nurtured separatists of Jammu and Kashmir who have been responsible in completely ruining the dialogue,” Congress spokesperson Tom Vadakkan said.

On the other side, separatist leader Bilal Lone, who was detained on Saturday on his arrival at New Delhi airport, expressed his disappointment saying that calling-off of NSA-level talks between India and Pakistan is a ‘big setback’.

“The NSA-level talks have been called off, it should not have happened. Engagement between India and Pakistan is very important. People, who believe in dialogue, people who believe that the issue will be solved, it is a big setback. The biggest brunt in this is for Kashmiri people,” Lone said.

“We just want to talk about Kashmir issue. We are not third party, we are primary party. The issue is ours, if you don’t ask us then who else will you ask,” he added.
