Polls opened Sunday in Myanmar’s historic general election, an AFP reporter said, with Aung San Suu Kyi’s opposition eyeing democratic government after decades of military-rule.
“Polls have opened,” a Union Election Commission official told AFP, requesting anonymity, at Bahan Township in Yangon, where Suu Kyi is due to vote.
