Traffic movement hit on Delhi-Ludhiana highway

Ambala, Aug 20 (PTI) Vehicular traffic onDelhi-Ambala-Amritsar national highway was affected after theserver of tax collection centre developed some technical snagtoday. A large number of vehicles, including cars and busesheading towards Delhi, Haryana, Jammu-Kashmir and otherdestinations were stuck in the morning rush hours. However, the police made way for the Delhi-Lahore buswhich ply on NH-1 with police escort. After traffic remained blocked for three hours, thevehicles were diverted via Naraingarh to ease the situation,police said. Ambala Deputy Commissioner of Police Arun Singh rushed tothe site. Among the stranded vehicles near the Toll Plaza of theNational Highway Authority of India (NHAI) at Sambhu in Punjabthere were some ambulances and VIP cars. The tax collection centre is operated by the Excise andTaxation Department of Punjab. Traffic movement became normal at 11:30 am, police said.PTI COR CHS AKA RCJ ZMNRCJ
