govt New Delhi, Aug 21 (PTI) As the Delhi Assembly’s four-daysession commences from Monday, the AAP MLAs are likely to seekclarity over "jurisdiction" of Delhi government and the LtGovernor and ask the city administration to move the SupremeCourt on the issue. Sources said confusion has prevailed among the rulingparty legislators over rights of the Assembly after the DelhiHigh Court order which had stamped the primacy of the LtGovernor in the city administration earlier this month. The issue of the arrest of AAP MLAs is expected to beraised by the ruling party members too. "After the court order, most MLAs are in a doubt overrights of the Assembly and government and want to seek clarityover the issue. In view of this, they will table resolution onthe floor of the House asking the Delhi government to moveSupreme Court," a party functionary said. AAP MLA from Rajouri Garden Jarnail Singh saidlegislators will seek more clarity on the powers of the DelhiAssembly and the government in the House after the HC order. "The issue about the confusion over the recent High Courtorder will certainly be raised. We will seek more clarity onthe powers of the Delhi Assembly and the government. "In other places, the government has the power todirectly present the bill before Assembly, but in Delhi thesituation is the other way round. Legislations require priorsanction of the LG," Singh said. The Kejriwal government has already announced that itwill move the Supreme Court against the HC verdict which hadruled that LG is the administrative head of Delhi on August 4. During the four-day Session, AAP government will alsotable two Bills including Ambedkar University Bill and LuxuryTax Amendment Bill. Government will do away with luxury tax onhotel room renting up to Rs 1500 in the national capital. As per the existing Delhi Tax on Luxuries Act (1996), anyperson who stays in a hotel room whose tariff is Rs 750 perday or above, has to pay luxury tax. The Opposition BJP will also seek to corner the AAPdispensation over numbers of issues including imposition ofSection 144 near the CM’s residence.
