Dehradun, Aug 23 (PTI) A woman went missing after acloudburst hit Maroragaon village even as debris fromlandslides blocked the chardham yatra route at several places. The cloudburst occurred in Maroragaon village in Pauri’sPabaun block at around 5 PM yesterday, razing to the ground ashop and five cowsheds, the state emergency operation centrehere said today. A woman is missing since then and some livestock arefeared trapped in the rubble, it said. Rescue teams, assisted by villagers, are searching for thewoman and the trapped livestock, the emergency operationcentre said. Seven members of a family were killed in Markhola villageof the same block of the district following a cloudburst onAugust 20. It has been raining heavily in isolated parts ofUttarakhand for the past few days with brief let-ups inbetween with nearly hundred rural motorable roads in 13districts still blocked by debris from landslides. The chardham yatra routes are also blocked at places,affecting the annual pilgrimage. The Rishikesh-Kedarnath national highway remains alsoblocked near Doliyadevi Mandir and efforts are underway toreopen it, officials said. However, the trek route from Ground to the Himalayanshrine is still open. The Oshkosh-Mantra highway is open for vehicular trafficonly up to Nouakchott. PIT ALM AQS RGAQSAQS
