In the meeting it was discussed that all sentinelsurveillance hospitals, private hospitals and establishmentsare instructed to forward daily report through e-mail withdetails including address and phone numbers of patients sothat appropriate preventive measures including fogging in theregion concerned can be undertaken. Looking at the relatively high chikungunya mortalityfigures being reported by some of the private hospitals, itwas decided to seek complete information like case sheet anddeath summary of all the fatal cases from such hospitals, thestatement said. "It was also informed that the Dengue Death ReviewCommittee, constituted by the government of Delhi is examiningall such deaths in detail," it said, adding it will soon comeout with more details. In the afternoon, a meeting of the Dengue Task Force wasconvened under the chairmanship of Secretary Health, DelhiGovernment. "The officers from NCDC (National Centre for DiseaseControl) and NIMR (National Institute of Malaria Research)were instructed to conduct research works regarding thecirculating strain of dengue and chikungunya virus andmosquito surveillance for local transmission respectively," itsaid. The three municipal corporations were directed to conductfogging drives all over Delhi particularly in areas from wheremore number of cases are being reported.
