Mumbai Police shuts Shobhaa De with a classic reply on twitter

The well-known author and columnist Shobhaa De is back again on social media, seen to be making fun of what she thought was an overweight personnel of the Mumbai Police, on Twitter.

This irresponsible act of the writer has triggered a storm of abuse and criticism on Twitter yet again. The well-known author and columnist was accused of cracking jokes in bad taste and body shaming. Mumbai police has tweeted in a response and ask the writer to be more responsible.

Meanwhile, Shobhaa De in a reply to Mumbai police asked M P police to consult a dietician;

But, twitter found the reply extremely illogical and the reactions immediately poured in;

Others pointed out that the photograph was even not of a Mumbai Police personnel, but someone from the Madhya Pradesh Police, as was indicated by the shoulder badge. And the responses piled up slowly on twitter.

However, it turns out that there are people who supported Ms. De.

Earlier she had been trolled in twitter after she had commented on the Rio Olympics especially those on badminton star PV Sindhu  had also upset many on Twitter.

There were rave responses on her sarcastic tweets about the Olympics players.

Mumbai voted yesterday to choose the team that will run the country’s richest civic body — the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Meanwhile, people took a dig on Ms. De’s tweets.
