Vladimir Putin Slams West For ‘Fueling The Ukrainian Conflict’, Key Takeaways

Moscow: Ahead of the one-year anniversary of Russia’s war over Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday while addressing his nation said that Russia will “systematically” press on with an offensive in Ukraine.

Key Pointers

  • He pointed out that “behind our backs, a very different scenario was being prepared.”
  • He said, “Step by step, we will carefully and systematically solve the aims facing us.”
  • Lashing out at the West, Putin claimed that Western countries, led by the US, were seeking ‘unlimited power’ in world affairs.
  • He added, “The responsibility for fueling the Ukrainian conflict, for its escalation, for the number of victims… lies completely with Western elites,”.
  • He further thanked the Russian people for their “resolution and courage”.
  • Putin added that “They intend to translate the local conflict into a global confrontation, we understand it this way and will react accordingly,”.
