New Delhi: The Indian government cybersecurity awareness department issued a notice highlighting various task-based investment scams circulating on the popular messaging platform, Telegram.
The Ministry of Home Affairs’ official cyber-safety and cybersecurity awareness handle, Cyber Dost, posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), advising people to be cautious of messages that prompt them to perform tasks such as following Instagram accounts, liking YouTube videos, or reviewing hotels in exchange for money.

The cybersecurity handle also released a video exposing fraudulent activities on Telegram, displaying screenshots of these scams. They’ve urged people to promptly dial 1930 to report any instances of financial fraud.
Furthermore, the cybersecurity handle emphasised that any scheme promising that any task-based scam giving a high commission ends as investment fraud.
