New Delhi: Matthew Perry, renowned for his iconic portrayal of Chandler Bing on the beloved show ‘Friends’, has passed away at the age of 54.
The actor was tragically found lifeless in a hot tub at his Los Angeles residence on Saturday, according to law enforcement sources cited by the LA Times.
His untimely demise has sent ripples of sorrow and disbelief through fans globally.
Perry was celebrated for his iconic portrayal of Chandler in the immensely popular sitcom “Friends,” the beloved show that aired on NBC from 1994 to 2004. The show also featured an ensemble cast including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow.
After 17 years since the ‘Friends’ series finale, the beloved cast reunited for a highly anticipated special that graced screens through HBO Max in 2021.
Along with ‘Friends’, Matthew Perry appeared in other television series such as ‘Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’, ‘Go On’, and ‘The Odd Couple’. He scored two Emmy nominations in 2003 and 2004 for outstanding guest actor in a drama series for his role as Joe Quincy in ‘The West Wing’.
