During this session, there will be a total of 15 scheduled sittings over a span of 19 days. The winter session will be the last sitting parliament session this year.
Earlier in September, the BJP-led NDA government called a five-day special session of Parliament. In the special session that was held at the recently inaugurated new parliament building, government officials delved into the 75-year legacy of the former parliament structure.
Another important milestone that was achieved during the special session was that both houses of Parliament approved the groundbreaking women’s reservation bill. This bill, which aims to grant a 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, has been a significant step towards gender equality in Indian politics.
