Mumbai: Bollywood star Salman Khan has faced multiple death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi for more than a year, resulting in the actor receiving Y-level security. The threats are connected to the 1998 Blackbuck case in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Recent reports suggest a fresh threat to the actor, leading the Mumbai Police to review and adjust his security measures.
The latest Facebook post from the gangster aimed at actor and singer Gippy Grewal read- ‘No one can save you. Your flamboyant response to Sidhu Moose Wala’s death didn’t go unnoticed. We are well aware of his character and his criminal connections.’
Bishnoi, a prime suspect in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, informed Delhi Police in 2022 that unless Salman Khan apologized for killing a blackbuck, considered sacred by the Bishnoi community, his community would not forgive him.
HGS Dhaliwal, the special commissioner of the Delhi Police (special cell), said that during the interrogation Bishnoi openly said, “Since the Bishnois consider the blackbuck to be the reincarnation of their religious guru, Bhagwan Jambeshwar also known as Jambaji, acquittal or punishment from the court will not be the last verdict for him.”
“Lawrence Bishnoi also said actor Salman Khan and his father (Salim Khan) either tender public apology in Jambaji temple or the Bishnois will kill them,” Dhaliwal said.
For those not aware, Salman Khan owns a bulletproof Toyota Land Cruiser. Amidst the threats to his life, he recently brought in Nissan’s most expensive SUV, the Nissan Patrol, for security reasons in April. This specific SUV has not been officially introduced to the Indian market yet. A video of the actor being seen in his newly acquired vehicle has recently garnered significant attention on the internet.
