A disturbing video showing bodies lying in a pool of blood on the street is widely shared on social media, claiming that white people are being slaughtered and raped by refugees in France.

Performing a Reverse Image Search of the keyframes from the viral video, the NM team identified a tweet, dated July 15, 2016, carrying a similar visual with a French caption: “We must close all the doors for these (people) That’s enough!!!!”
Searching further, we found a video report by The Indian Express, dated July 18, 2016, carrying the same visuals. According to the report, the attack occurred in Nice, France. According to the report, “the Nice truck attacker staked out the seafront for two days before striking, it emerged on Sunday as investigators pieced together details of the IS-claimed massacre and questioned possible accomplices. A source close to the investigation told AFP that Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, a 31-year-old Tunisian, sent a text message just before the attack in which he “expresses satisfaction at having obtained a 7.65mm pistol and discusses the supply of other weapons”.
According to the France24 English news bulletin dated July 15, 2016, the tragic incident in Nice involved a truck ramming into a crowd, resulting in the loss of several lives. The driver accelerated the vehicle and deliberately ploughed through the crowd, causing widespread panic and devastation.
In July 2016, a 31-year-old small-time criminal named Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel used a rented white truck to deliberately run into a crowd in Nice, leaving 84 dead, including 10 children, and 202 wounded, as reported by NBC News. On December 14, 2022, Reuters reported that a French court convicted seven men and one woman for their roles in the deadly 2016 truck attack in Nice.
Thus, it is evident from the above information that an old video showing a terror attack in France is shared as recent incident with misleading claims.
